- To provide ongoing in-services for the faculty on the implementation of the new peer-partner observation process and use of the new form
- To provide time for peer partners to work individually and/or small partner groups with a consultant on the implementation of the “Motivational Framework”
- To design a format for peer partners to have the opportunity to meet individually and/or as a small group of peer partners with the project chairpersons and committee once a semester
- To re-evaluate, and if necessary, to devise a new administrative form for assessing the progress of the project
Peer Coaching and Observation has had a valuable impact on the school faculty and program. Teachers who had not experienced what goes on in other classrooms have had the opportunity to grow from the expertise of their peers. Receiving valuable feedback from their Peer Partners has helped them to re-evaluate the way they have been teaching and opened them to trying “new things” in their own classrooms. All of this makes for a better learning environment for all students.
Having completed these goals and while we are still working on the process of
Peer Coaching, the faculty and administration have establishedthese new goals for the 2007 – 2010 time frame:
- To continue to develop and work diligently through the Peer Coaching process
- To begin to work through the process of “Curriculum Mapping”
While we see this as a tremendous goal, we see the value in identifying what needs to be done in order to strengthen our curriculum and perhaps refine the order and sequence in which we present the various topics in the subject areas to the students.
