St. Rose of Lima Athletic Association

(Cross Country/Track)

Congratulations! ________________________________________ in class ____________ has been selected to represent St. Rose of Lima's team. Participation on the team is dependent upon a child's social behavior as well as his/her attitude toward academic achievement.

We welcome and encourage you to attend the games that will be here at St. Rose or at other schools in the area.  The coach will send home with your child a schedule of all games and directions to any away games. If any change in the schedule occurs, the coach will give you advance notice including written directions.

It will be the responsibility of the parents to transport their child to and from all practices and games. It is important, also, that they be picked up at the designated time.

Whenever St. Rose School is closed because of inclement weather, there will be no practices.

A league fee ($30) and refundable uniform ($75) and service deposits ($50) are required from each student participating in each sport.

All students are covered for any injuries that may occur (hopefully none) during any practice or game by the Diocese Student Insurance Plan.

There will be a team meeting for all team members, their parents, coaches, and an Association representative to collect all fees and permission slips, to discuss concession schedules, game schedules and directions, school policy on the sports program and individual coaches' expectations. Ask your questions then.  Complete the permission form included with this letter and bring it to the team meeting along with your league fee, uniform deposit, and service deposit.

That team meeting will be held on ________________________ at _____________________.

When everyone on the team has paid all fees and completed permission slips, the team will be given uniforms.  A uniform must be returned in good condition at the end of the season. When the uniform is returned in good condition, the $75 deposit check will be returned.  If a uniform is lost or not returned, the deposit will not be returned. If the uniform is damaged because of carelessness, a portion of the deposit will be used to cover expenses. The service deposit will be held only if the player’s parent does not perform the required service involving either the concession stand (indoor sports), or field maintenance duties (outdoor sports).  Remember no team will be given uniforms until everyone's permission slip, fee, and deposits are received. If a particular child does not have a permission slip signed, that individual will not be allowed to practice.  Practices can begin on the date of the team meeting.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child's coach or the Director of Coaches. Thank you for your cooperation and support and have a wonderful season.

Sincerely,

St. Rose of Lima Athletic Association
